IRI Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi conferred with Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani in Qatar's capital, Doha on Thursday, and discussed the bilateral cooperation and ways for expanding it, as well as regional and international developments, IRNA reported.
Salehi and his accompanying delegation also discussed Syria's crisis and the latest developments accordingly.
Foreign Salehi's visit to Doha takes place in line with finding a way for release of 48 Iranian pilgrims who were abducted in August in Syria by terrorists fighting the Syrian government.
A group of 48 Iranian pilgrims were kidnapped in Syria on August 4 by armed rebels reportedly linked to the so-called 'Free Syrian Army' in Rif district of Damascus.
The abducted Iranian pilgrims were travelling on a bus from Damascus International Airport to the holy shrine of Hazrat Zainab (AS) on the outskirts of the Syrian capital, Damascus.
The terrorists fighting the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad are reportedly under the control of Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar.
