Iran's Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mohsen Pak Ayeen stressed Tehran and Baku's willingness to further expand bilateral relations, Fars reported.
Speaking at a meeting with President of Baku Medical University Ahliman Amiraslanev on Thursday, Pak Ayeen said Iran and Azerbaijan favored promotion of ties in all fields of interests based on the cultural commonalties between the two nations.
He said two countries enjoy excellent potentials in this regard and therefore exchange of scientific and educational delegations between the two countries will reinforce mutual ties.
The Ambassador called for further exchange of information and scientific and research experience between Baku University of Medical Science and medical universities of Tabriz, Orumiyeh, Rasht, Ardebil, Tehran and Isfahan.
In October, President Ahmadinejad traveled to Baku to attend the 12th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization. The summit was held at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku.
The Iranian and Azeri presidents met on the sidelines of ECO Summit.
Speaking to reporters at the end of his visit to Baku, President Ahmadinejad called the ECO summit in Azerbaijan as "very good and constructive".
He also expressed the hope that ECO would witness very positive outcomes during Azerbaijan's presidency.
