Iranian Envoy to Turkey Bahman Hosseinpour said that holding the fourth economic meeting of Iran-Turkey border provinces is an important step for expansion of economic transactions between the two countries, IRNA reported.

The Fourth Economic Meeting of Iran and Turkey Border Provinces presided by the Iranian Vice-President for International Affairs Ali Saeedlou and the Turkish Development Minister Cevdet Yilamz is held in the Turkish border town of Agheri from November 18 to November 19.

'Saeedlou and Yilmaz visited the border customs of the two countries for the first time on the sidelines of the meeting,' he added.

The Iranian envoy noted that the two sides reiterated the enhancement of bilateral ties and increasing the volume of trade transactions.

'It is predicted that the volume of trade transactions between the two countries will exceed $20 billion by the end of 2012,' Hosseinpour said.

Several Iranian provincial officials from West and East Azarbaijan provinces, and Ardebil province, as well as representatives of five Turkish provinces bordering Iran attended the meeting.
