Director of Iran's Nuclear Energy Organization, Fereydoun Abbasi said on Sunday that Iran will not give up its nuclear rights, reaffirming commitment to Non-Proliferation Treaty and the International Atomic Energy Agency, IRNA reported.
He told reporter that the national nuclear program has been used by the western governments as a pretext to go ahead with traditional hostility with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Abbasi said that the intensified sanctions have nothing to do with Iranian nuclear program and that they must be seen in the context of traditional hostility of the western governments with Iranian nation.
On news reports about U.S. officials' call for negotiattion with Iran, Abbasi said Iran is acting according to NPT and the IAEA Charter and if they want to negotiate with Iran, they should engage in talks in the framework of systematic cooperation with the specialized nuclear agency.
Cameras of IAEA are installed over Iranian sites monitoring them 24 hours, sending satellite pictures from operations underway at the sites to the Vienna-based agency.
He commented on the IAEA representatives' visit to Iran, saying, "It is important that the consultations with the agency are in line with our legitimate rights and commitment to the NPT and the agency.
