Iranian Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Salehi said on Tuesday that Iran is a reliable trade partner for Italy and the entire European states, IRNA reported.
He made the remarks in a meeting with Italian new ambassador to Tehran Luca Giansanti.
Salehi said that Iran and Italy are two important countries which enjoy longstanding cultural relations and abundant affinities.
Ambassador Luca Giansanti submitted a copy of his credentials to Salehi.
Giansanti called Iran an important country in view of its strategic, regional and energy status.
He said that Iran and Italy are traditional trade partners and level of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries are considerable.
Giansanti called for enhanced economic cooperation between Iran and Italy during his tenure in Tehran.
