A strong quake hit northwestern province of East Azerbaijan on Saturday, IRNA reported.
The quake occurred at 18: 42 local time (15:13 GMT).
According to incoming reports, the quake also shook the city of Tabriz.
Panicked people rushed to the street and open areas for safeety reason, said the reports.
