Twenty two percent of Iran's children do not go to school, ISNA quoted Farshid Yazdani, activist in the field of rights of children, as saying.

According to international laws, every person under the age of 18 is referred to as a child, he added.

School-age children in Iran amount to 14.7 million, of them 11.6 million have registered in nationwide, he noted.

According to statistics, 1.5 children of 3.1 million children who do not go to school are breadwinners of their families, he said.
