Iranian National RoboCup Committee has proposed to manufacture special robots for underwater work on country's oil jetties, ISNA reported.
The Iranian RoboCup National Committee was officially formed in July 2006. The main objective of Iranian RoboCup National Committee is to promote Robotics and AI research.
Chairman of the Iranian committee, Morteza Mousakhani said that a special consortium has been established to move the work forward.
He added that the initiative came as a way to promote use of robots in various industrial sectors.
Mousakhani added that the robots will be manufactured jointly by the consortium that includes country's Sharif University of Technology, Isfahan Technology University and Azad University.
