Iran will preparing to hold "Syria friends" meeting on May 29, spokesman of Foreign Ministry Abbas Aragchi said, Fars news agency reported.

Aragchi said that the slogan of meeting will be "political resolving and regional security".

"International foreign ministers, influent figures and representatives of organizations have been invited to meeting and good welcomes has been come to Iran's initiative so far" he added.

According to him, Iran believes Syria crisis does not have military solution way and the Syrian opposition and ruling authorities should negotiate themselves.

Iran has held two times meeting about Syria crisis so far, but Syrian oppositions' representatives haven't participated there.

Iran's preparing to hold third meeting came, while the foreign ministers of the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Turkey, Egypt, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in addition to Jordan concluded on My 22 a meeting on Syria in Amman.

According to the U.S Department State's announcement, the Ministers supported the participation in the Geneva meeting (June 30th 2012) for the purpose of the full implementation of the outcomes of the first Geneva meeting to end the bloodshed, fulfill the legitimate aspirations of the Syrian people, preserve the territorial integrity of the country, and strengthen the national unity amongst all components of the Syrian national fabric.

The Ministers also emphasized the central role of the United Nations Security Council in the realization of this effort.

"The Ministers condemned in the strongest terms the use of heavy weapons including ballistic missiles against the people, and deplored the ethnic cleansing that the regime is pursuing as seen recently in Banias, and declared that such crimes will not go unpunished" the U.S. Department of State said.

The conflict between the government and the opposition has been on-going in Syria since March 2011.

According to UN estimates, the death toll in the country during this period has reached 82,000.
Iran is reportedly Bashar al-Assad regime's major ally.
