Pakistani Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ezzaz Ahmad Chaudhury said that the US-led sanction imposed against Iran's energy sector is in no way related to the plan for transfer of Iran's gas to Pakistan, IRNA reported.

"Pakistan informed its positive stance about supporting the project on transfer of Iran's gas and also underlined the importance of the project to overcome the energy crisis in the country during the recent visit of US Secretary of State John Kerry," the Pakistani diplomat said.

He noted that Pakistan's increasing demand for energy has made that government to make use of all possible options, including Iran's gas project, to meet its energy needs.

The contract for transfer of Iran's natural gas to Pakistan was signed between the two countries' senior officials according to which a total of 21.5 million cubic meters of natural gas will be transferred from Assalouyeh in Bushehr province Navabshah port in southern Pakistan.

The gas pipeline will transfer Iran's natural gas to Pakistan in a border area of 320 kilometers.
