Iranian newly elected Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has expressed his concern about Egypt's critical situation and ongoing bloody clashes of the people in this country during a phone talk with his Egyptian counterpart Nabil Fahmy, Mehr news agency reported.
He has also stressed the need for a political solution and urgency of remaining committed to a democratic process for stopping the clashes.
According to the report, Fahmy in his turn, has congratulated Zarif as Iran's New Foreign Minister during his initiated phone talk.
It should be recalled that, Zarif also has requested the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to take role in ongoing violence in Egypt during his phone talk with OIC secretary general Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu on August 16.
Zarif has condemned the ongoing bloody clashes of the people in Egypt, and called on for the violence to stop. He also requested Ihsanoglu to enter the negotiations with both sides of the clashes, and stop the violence.
On August 16, Zarif also spoke about his priorities as Iran's new Foreign Minister, the first of which was to help sides find common grounds to stop the bloody clashes.
