Iranian and Oman foreign ministers Mohammad Javad Zarif and Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah met in Tehran yesterday evening, IRINN television channel reported.
The ministers met within the framework of visit of Oman's Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said to Iran, who became the first high-ranking foreign guest of the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.
At the meeting, Zarif said that instability and extremism have no borders, and they cannot be limited to one particular country.
Both sides expressed concern about conflicts and extremism in the region, and also discussed regional developments, including those in Egypt, Syria, Yemen, Lebanon and Bahrain.
Both Mohammad Javad Zarif and Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah expressed satisfaction with the trade, gas and enegy cooperation between Iran and Oman.
The officials also underscored that a 4-way cargo transit plan between Oman-Turkmenistan-Iran-Uzbekistan, should be realized and a memorandum should be signed on the case.
Iran and Oman share control of the strategic Strait of Hormuz and have always maintained cordial relations.
