Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Araqchi said the country is considering to have a spokeswoman in the ministry, IRIB News reported.
"We're currently discussing this issue, so that there could be a spokeswoman in the Foreign Ministry," Araqchi said.
Araqchi underscored that currently there are women working in the Foreign Ministry as managers and experts.
He further noted that Iran will also be sending other women as ambassadors from Iran to foreign countries.
Having both an FM spokeswoman and female ambassadors would be first time for Iran since the Islamic Revolution.
