A delegation of senior Iranian parliamentarians is slated to embark on a visit to Syria on Saturday to study the latest developments in the Muslim country, Fars News Agency quoted a senior lawmaker as saying.
"This visit to take place next Saturday will be aimed at studying Syria's conditions and showing support for the Syrian government and nation after the recent US threats," Rapporteur of the parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Seyed Hossein Naqavi Hosseini told FNA today.
"A delegation comprising the chairman and members of the parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission will travel to Syria Saturday with a study of Syria's status quo on its agenda," he added.
Naqavi Hosseini explained that the delegation will be headed by Commission Chairman Alaeddin Boroujerdi who will be accompanied by two other senior lawmakers, Seyed Fathollah Hosseini and Javad Karimi Qodousi.
