Negotiations on Iran have the chance to succeed. Tehran should show flexibility and the "Six" should react to the positive steps which are expected from Iran, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov told journalists, RIA Novosti reported.
"We coherently and permanently speak for the settlement of the situation related to the Iranian nuclear program only through political and diplomatic means, a military solution is absolutely inadmissible. We believe that the negotiations have a chance of success. It is necessary that Iran shows flexibility and readiness to meet the requirements of the international community," Ushakov told journalists.
He noted that these requirements are contained in the resolutions of the UN General Assembly and IAEA Board of Governors. .
There should not be any artificial pauses in the negotiations on the Iranian nuclear issue, the "Six" should meet in the coming days, Ushakov told journalists.
"We feel that the negotiation process would dynamically develop without unnecessary artificial pauses. We believe that the next meeting of the "Six" on Iran should be held as soon as possible," he said.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hoseyn Amir-Abdollahiyan told RIA Novosti on Tuesday that the Iranian Foreign Minister intends to discuss the time and place of negotiations between Iran and the "Six" International Mediators with the head of EU diplomacy Catherine Ashton in late September.
Ashton represents the "Six:" International Mediators on the settlement of the Iranian nuclear program, which includes the USA, China, Russia, Great Britain, France and Germany. The time of a new round of negotiations between Iran and the mediators has not been announced yet.
The U.S., other Western countries, and Israel suspect Iran of developing nuclear weapons under the guise of a peaceful nuclear energy program. Tehran states that its nuclear program is only aimed at meeting the country's demand for electricity.
