Last night Iran's naval ships rescued an Iranian oil tanker from pirates , Iran Navy's deputy commander for operations, Admiral Siavash Jareh said, Fars news agency reported.

According to the report, the incident occurred at the Gulf of Aden on the south coast of the Yemen.

Iran's 27th Navy Fleet participated in the operation, Jareh said, adding that after the pirates escaped, the fleet escorted the oil tanker to its destination.

According to the report, there was no damage to the Iranian oil tanker.

On October 3, Iranian media outlets informed that Iran's 27th Navy Fleet saved two Yemeni fishing boats from the pirates.

Earlier in August, the Iran's 27th fleet of warships left for the high seas to ensure safe passage to the Iranian commercial vessels and oil tankers.

"We believe that presence on the high seas is every country's right, and we will continue with this trend," Iranian Navy commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari earlier said.
