Rouhani hopes Germany plays constuctive role in Iran-P5+1 nuclear talks

Iranian president Hassan Rouhani expressed hope that Germany would play a constructive role during the next Iran-P5+1 nuclear negotiation at Geneva which will be held on October 14-15.

Iranian president Hassan Rouhani expressed hope that Germany would play a constructive role during the next Iran-P5+1 nuclear negotiation at Geneva which will be held on October 14-15, IRNA news agency reported.

Rouhani made the remarks during his meeting with the new German Ambassador to Tehran, Michael Baron von Ungern.

Rouhani also congratulated the ambassador with the re-election of Angela Merkel as Chancellor of the Germany.

Iranian president stressed importance of the bilateral relations between Iran and Germany, expressing hope that the relations will boost in the future.

He also emphasized importance of the Iran-EU mutual relations` development.
Iran's nuclear program is peaceful, Rouhani said, adding that the country defends its nuclear rights within the framework of the international rules without any discrimination.

The German diplomat, in his turn, expressed hope that during the P5+1 meeting in Geneva, sides would achieve significant progresses.

He also went on to note that, the German media are interested to talk with Iranian president regarding the issue.

The Ambassador also underlined the importance of the Iran-Germany's economic ties.
According to the Statistical office of the European Union-Eurostat, Iran-Germany trade turnover has reached some 1.056 billion euros during first six months of the current year, which indicates a decrease by 23 percent compared to the same period last year.
