Malaysia to export over $221 million of goods to Iran

The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation announced that nine Malaysian companies have signed contracts with Iranian firms to export over 221.33 million worth of goods to Tehran.

The contracts were inked at the sidelines of the 13th Tehran International Industry Exhibition, the IRNA News Agency reported.

Nine Malaysian firms had participated in the event.

The two countries' trade value stood at $1.285 billion in 2012. Iran's exports accounted for $318 million of the mentioned amount.

The 13th edition of Tehran international industry exhibition opened on October 6.

The exhibition hosted 405 Iranian companies and 130 foreign companies from 20 countries, including Italy, China, Malaysia, Turkey, South Korea, Germany, Sweden, Romania, Spain, Brazil, Japan, France, Britain, and Thailand.

Machinery and equipment related to production lines, industrial workshops, and automation, ware on display in the exhibition.

Malaysian firms have been present at the past nine editions of Tehran international industry exhibition.
