Negotiations would not be fruitful unless the West lifts sanctions against Iran, the Chairman of Iran's Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Alaeddin Boroujerdi said on Saturday, Farsnews reported.

"Enriching uranium is Iran's obvious right," the Fars News Agency quoted Boroujerdi as saying.

"Certain countries, notably Israel, prefer that the talks fail," he said.

Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany known as the P5+1, held a new round of talks on Tehran's nuclear energy program in Geneva on October 15 and 16.

Iran submitted a new proposal to P5+1 during the meetings.
Iranian president Hassan Rouhani said on Saturday that all sides of the negotiations on Iran's nuclear issue have stressed that the format of the former talks was unsuitable, his official website reported.

Rouhani made the remarks during his meeting with new Swiss Ambassador to Tehran.
He went on to note that two sides can use better format for building mutual trust.
