The "Iranian" university which reportedly belongs to ex-president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has showcased its official license on the website of the university, Fars news agency reported.

According to the report, the published license was issued by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology on September 18, 2010.

Earlier, Iranian Ministry of Science, Research and Technology announced that the "Iranian" university is not legal.

In July 2013, member of the Iran's Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution Mohammad Hossein Yadegari said Ahmadinejad planned to establish a private university in Tehran.

At the time, Yadegari said Iran's Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution has accepted Ahmadinejad's application to create the university.

Iran's ex-president was said to work on training students on becoming highly educated professionals in relevant fields.

Ahmadinejad later appointed his fellow workers to new posts at his university.

Later in August, Iranian media outlets reported that Ahmadinejad had transferred some $6.45 million (based on official rate of 24,800 rials per each USD) from the Iranian president's bank account to his private university's bank account. According to the report, the money has been transferred to a private 'Iranian University's bank account on August 4 which was the same day as Hassan Rouhani was inaugurated as country's new president.

Many officials criticised the move. Akbar Torkan, an advisor to Iran's president said that transferring $6.45 million to the Iranian University is a criminal act and against the law.

On October 1, Iranian Arman newspaper quoted MP and spokesman of the parliament's Article 90 Commission, Mostafa Afzali-Fard as saying Ahmadinejad's court regarding the Iranian University fraud case will soon be held.

Afzali-Fard went on to note that the case is under investigation at the Commission, adding that the Article 90 Commission will refer its investigation's result to the Judiciary.
