Baku, Azerbaijan, Nov. 19

By Temkin Jafarov, Saeed Isayev - Trend: Iran has issued a statement, denying having an underground military base in country's Isfahan province, Fars news agency reported on Nov. 19.

The report released on Nov. 18, by National Council of Resistance of Iran claims such base is in country's Isfahan province.

In particular, a member of the organization, Mehdi Abrishamchi, who is also a member of the Mojahedin-e-Khalq organization, claimed that this "secret facility" is situated in a mountain tunnel, 10 kms away from the Mobarek city of Isfahan province.

Spokesman of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Behruz Kamalvandi dismissed the report on Iran having such a facility.

"This kind of news is released to ruin positive atmosphere of negotiations between Iran and P5+1," he said. "Such object does not exist."

It should be noted that Iran and P5+1 group are to hold another round of negotiations on Iran's nuclear program on Nov. 20.

The U.S. and its Western allies suspect Iran of developing a nuclear weapon - something that Iran denies. The Islamic Republic has on numerous occasions stated that it does not seek to develop nuclear weapons, using nuclear energy for medical researches instead.
