Baku, Azerbaijan, Dec. 11
By Umid Niayesh - Trend: Iran has released two further Slovak citizens arrested in June on charges of espionage and violating the country's law, IRIB news agency reported on Dec. 11. The two released Slovaks were delivered to the Slovakian embassy in Tehran.

No further details were reported about the time of their release.

On September 1, Iran released six of eight Slovak citizens, while two others were being kept for further investigations, the report said.

On July 1, Iranian media outlets quoted spokesman of the Iran Judiciary System Mohsen Ejei as saying that eight Slovaks alongside an Iranian citizen were accused of espionage.

He said these people imported illegal equipment into the country and took photos and films from Iran's sensitive areas around Isfahan province.

"They had travelled to Iran as tourists, but displayed unconventional behaviour and had equipment, "according to the Iranian Foreign Ministry.
