An earthquake measuring 3.1 on Richter scale jolted surrounding area of Hajiabad in southern province of Hormozgan on Sunday evening, IRNA reported.
According to the report of seismography center affiliated to Tehran University Geophysics Institute, the tremor occurred at 23:35 hours local time (20:05 hours GMT) and its epicenter was at 28.19 degrees latitude and 55.96 degrees longitude and in depth of 9 kilometers underground.
There is no immediate report on possible casualties or damage.
