Official proposes establishment of Islamic states union

Secretary General of World Assembly of Islamic Faiths Proximity in the 27th International Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran on Friday proposed that Islamic countries establish an ˈIslamic States Unionˈ, IRNA reported.

Ayatollah Mohsen Araki proposed establishment of the union so that positive steps can be taken in direction of political, economic and scientific issues.

He also proposed that Islamic Peace Committee, which was an achievement of the 26th conference and has been established in countries such as Syria, Egypt, Iraq and East Asia countries to be formed in other Islamic countries, too.

In his third proposal, the ayatollah called on Islamic religious leaders in the whole Islamic countries to be united in confrontation with Takfiris.

The fourth proposal of Ayatollah Araki to the 27th International Islamic Unity Conference was to establish a defending society for Al-Aqsa Mosque and Palestine and all Islamic states take a firm and clear stance against Israel.

He also called media in the Islamic countries to present a suitable program to confront with provocative media, who are always trying to harm Islamic Umma.

The 27th International Islamic Unity Conference started its work in Tehran on Friday in the presence of President Hassan Rouhani and a large number of officials, scholars and representatives from prominent religious leaders in Qom and Najaf.

370 foreign characters from 50 different countries are attending the 3-day conference.
