Turkish parliament speaker invited to attend ICPU in Tehran

Iranˈs Ambassador to Turkey invited Turkeyˈs Parliament Speaker Cemil Cicek on behalf of Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani to attend the 9th Parliament Union Conference of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) countries in Tehran, IRNA reported.

Iranˈs Ambassador to Turkey invited Turkeyˈs Parliament Speaker Cemil Cicek on behalf of Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani to attend the 9th Parliament Union Conference of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) countries in Tehran, IRNA reported.

Alireza Bigdeli, in a meeting with Turkeyˈs parliament speaker Cicek, submitted the invitation letter on Thursday.

In the meeting, Cicek evaluated reciprocal visits of senior officials of the two countreis ˈPositiveˈ, and said that holding the conference would be an opportunity to consider problems of the Islamic world.

Meanwhile, holding the conference would be a ground for holding talks between parliaments speakers from Islamic countries.

Cicek stressed that increasing cooperation between Iran and Turkey is very important in establishement of peace, stability and security in the region.

Turkeyˈs Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is also to visit Iran on January 28-29 and during his stay in Iran trade preferrential agreements between the two countries will be signed, the ambassaddor said.

The 9th OIC member states parliamentary union will be held in Tehran on February 14 to 19, 2014.

In addition to 53 members of the union, who have been invited to Tehran, 22 international and regional organizations will participate as observers, too.

Motto of the conference is, ˈIslamic parliaments, solidarity, justice and progressˈ.

In addition to the members and observers, parliament speakers from Rawanda, Nigeria, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bronei, Russian Doma and Chinaˈs National People Congress have been invited to attend the conference as honorary guests.
