Rouhani went on to say that Iran's economy is again rising, expressing hope that South Korean companies to take a more active role in the issue.

He said that leading international companies are interested in investment in Iran and economic cooperation.

Commenting on the Geneva nuclear deal, Rouhani said that Iran will fulfil its obligations to the nuclear deal. He underlined that according to the Iran the Geneva deal is not temporary, but it is a foundation to achieve a permanent agreement with the west.

Iran and the P5+1 reached a nuclear agreement on Nov. 24. Iran has agreed to curb some of its nuclear activities for six months in return for sanctions relief. Iran and the P5+1 group have agreed to implement the agreement starting from Jan. 20.

Under the agreement, six major powers agreed to give Iran access to $4.2 billion in revenues blocked overseas if it carries out the deal, which offers sanctions relief in exchange for steps to curb the Iranian nuclear program.

"On behalf of Iran, there is a serious intention to reach a permanent agreement with the west on the nuclear issue, and if there is a will on the other party, we will reach a comprehensive deal soon," Rouhani added.

The South Korean speaker, for his turn, expressed hope that the former close relations between the two countries will be restored as soon as possible. Kang went on to say that South Korea wants to resolve problems in economic relations between the two countries.

Kang is the first South Korean Assembly speaker to visit Iran since the two countries established diplomatic ties in 1962.
