Deputy Head of Iran's State Airports Company, Ebrahim Shoushtari has confirmed that a Turkish Airlines plane traveling to Mumbai from Istanbul landed in Tehran on March 3 after a passenger with a medical condition needed immediate treatment, Iranian Tasnim news agency reported on March 4.

He also dismissed reports about the presence of Israeli passengers in the plane.

The Jerusalem Post reported that some 20 Israelis passengers were in the Turkish Airline Plane.

Shoushtari underlined that the aircraft left Tehran to India after waiting for two hours.

The ill passenger transferred to hospital and was treated, he added.
