Lebanon vows to pursue Iran missions blasts

Lebanese Justice Minister Ashraf al-Rifi says his country will spare no effort in prosecuting those responsible for the bomb attacks against the Iranian embassy and an Iranian cultural center in Beirut, Press TV reported.

In a meeting with Iran's Ambassador to Beirut Ghazanfar Roknabadi on Monday, Rifi stated that Lebanon will continue with its probe into the terrorist acts to the end.

He also expressed Beirut's preparedness to sign judicial documents and expand legal ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Roknabadi, for his part, said that three judicial documents have already been drafted and are ready to be finalized between Iran and Lebanon.

Two powerful explosions struck a busy area in southern Beirut near the Iranian cultural center on February 19, killing at least five people and wounding dozens.

Earlier, on November 19, 2013, bombings outside the Iranian embassy in Beirut's southern neighborhood of Janah left at least 25 people dead, including six Iranian nationals, and wounded over 150 others.

The Abdullah Azzam Brigades claimed responsibility for both attacks.

On January 1, the Lebanese government confirmed the arrest of Majed al-Majed, the Saudi leader of the Abdullah Azzam Brigades.

The detained Saudi terrorist was pronounced dead at a Lebanese military hospital on January 4.
