Iran exported around 1.525 million tons of goods worth $1.444 billion to Europe in the previous calendar year, which ended on March 20.

The figures account for 1.9 and 4.61 percent of the country's total exports in terms of weight and value, respectively, Iran's Customs Administration said.

Tehran also imported 10.011 million tons of goods worth $10.985 billion from Europe last year, which accounts for 29.82 percent and 21.62 percent of the country's total imports.

Tehran imported some 1.067 million tons of goods worth $1.326 billion from Americas previous year.

Iran also exported 77,000 tons of goods worth $163 million to the continent in the mentioned period.

Iran's total non-oil exports to foreign countries (excluding gas condensates) stood at $31.332 billion in previous year, while the country's total imports amounted to $50.818 billion.

The figures mark annual trade balance of -$19.486 billion for Iran.

Iran's trade balance with 91 countries was positive. Iraq ($5.881 billion), Afghanistan ($2.385 billion), Turkmenistan ($724 million), Egypt ($586 million), and Azerbaijan ($450 million) are on top of the list.

Tehran's trade balance with another 86 countries was negative. The United Arab Emirates (-$8.224 billion), South Korea (-$3.52 billion), Switzerland (-$2.327 billion), China (-$2.231 billion), and Germany (-$2.116 billion) were the main top countries in this category.
