Iranian government has ordered the oil ministry to distribute gasoline conforming Euro-4 standard and high quality diesel oil in big cities.

The priority of distribution would be the cities with worst air pollution, Iran's Mehr News Agency reported on April 14.

All the gas stations of Iranian capital, Tehran, are currently distributing gasoline conforming to Euro-4 standard.

National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) daily distributes 44 million liters of gasoline and diesel oil conforming Euro-4 standard in the capital, Mehr reported on April 8.

Gasoline accounts for 20 million liters of the mentioned figure.

NIORDS officials have rejected Sharif University of Technology's report which blames Tehran's air pollution on the low quality of distributed gasoline and diesel oil.

Iran's gasoline consumption surpassed 100 million liters per day, marking an all-time high record, Iranian Mehr News Agency reported.

The country's gasoline consumption on April 1 stood at 100.7 million liters per day, which was unprecedented.

According to the managing director of National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC), Mostafa Kashkouli , some 24.5 billion liters of gasoline was consumed in Iran in the previous year, which is 1.8 billion liters more than its preceding year.

The country's average gasoline consumption stood at 67 million liters in the previous year.
