Iranian labor minister Ali Rabiee underlined Tehran's readiness to contribute and assist in Syria's reconstruction, Iran's Fars news agency reported on June 11.

In a meeting with his Syrian counterpart Hassan Hejazi on the sidelines of the International Labor Organization (ILO) meeting in Geneva, Rabiee said Iranian companies have all the capabilities for that,

Rabiee said that the Iranian people and government will always be beside Syria.

Last week, Syrian prime minister Wael Al-Halqi called for the partnership of Iran's private sector in the reconstruction of his country.

"The Iranian companies are Syria's main partners in reconstruction of our country," the Syrian prime minister said in a meeting with Iranian parliamentary delegation in Damascus.

Iran is a close ally of the Syrian government and has always shown its support for the regime of Syrian President Bashar al Assad.

Al-Assad won the recent presidential elections held on June 3 with 88.7 percent of votes. The European Union and the US condemned the election, calling it undemocratic.
