The Iranian parliament (Majlis) on July 6 approved the outlines of a proposal based on which organizations would require the approval of intelligence ministry before appointing someone to important and sensitive posts.

The Iranian parliament (Majlis) on July 6 approved the outlines of a proposal based on which organizations would require the approval of intelligence ministry before appointing someone to important and sensitive posts.

According to Iran's ISNA News Agency, 127 MPs voted in favor, 65 against, and 12 abstained.

The bill was supposed to cover only the ministry of education, but now covers all the organizations and ministries.

If the bill gets the final approval, the details will be disclosed.

The MPs are scheduled to vote on the bill on Tuesday.
