Iran and the P5+1 group of countries are likely to hold talks on the sidelines of the upcoming UN General Assembly Session in September.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araqchi said both Tehran, and the P5+1 group of countries are serious enough to proceed with the negotiations, Iran's IRNA News Agency reported on Aug. 18.

"The other party needs to make tough decisions and to be more creative in the course of the upcoming talks," he added.

Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council comprising of China, France, Russia, Britain, the US and Germany have until Nov. 24 to clinch a final deal on Tehran's nuclear energy program.
