The first phase of Bushehr Nuclear Power Plantˈs desalination factory was unveiled on Friday in presence of the Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali-Akbar Salehi, IRNA reported.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the ceremony marking inauguration of the project, Salehi said that the AEOI plans to manufacture nuclear reactors for desalination of seawater.
He added that negotiations are underway with Russia to build new nuclear power plant in Bushehr.
Desalination refers to any of several processes that remove some amount of salt and other minerals from saline water.
