Algerian security forces killed three extremists in eastern province of Tizi Ouzou, local daily al-Watan reported Sunday on its website.
An unidentified security source told al-Watan three extremists were killed Saturday evening in clash with Algerian police in Takhoukht, 110 Km east of Algiers, Xinhua reported.
Police seized two Kalashnikov rifles from the killed attackers.
On Thursday, Algerian army killed an extremist and arrested two others belonging to al-Qaida in Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) group in southwestern Algeria.
The north African country carried out a campaign against the Salafist-turned AQIM group, according to an August agreement with its neighboring countries.
