Lebanese President Michel Suleiman Sunday condemned the car bomb happened on Saturday night, saying that the incident serves the interests of Lebanon's enemies, the official National News Agency (NNA) reported.
Suleiman said it was an attempt to destabilize domestic security, Lebanese people will not allow such acts, Xinhua reported.
He also called for relevant security services and judicial authorities to intensify their investigations, arrest the perpetrators and sent them to the court.
Suleiman urged political leaders to be moderate following the incident.
On Saturday night, a car bomb hit Beirut's southern suburb Dahiyeh, the stronghold of Lebanese Shiite armed group Hezbollah. The blast reportedly targeted a Hamas official in Lebanon.
Hamas official Ayman Taha told a press conference on Sunday that the incident resulted in three deaths and five injuries, two among the three dead were Hamas members.
