Lebanese, Syrian presidents discuss regional, bilateral issues

Lebanese President Michel Suleiman on Friday discussed via phone with his Syrian counterpart Bashar al-Assad regional developments in the Middle East and bilateral relations, Suleiman's office said in a statement.

The Lebanese president phoned al-Assad days after Washington called Lebanon and Syria to enter peace negotiations with Israel, and one day after more than one explosions occurred in Lebanon's southern village of Shehabiyye for unknown reasons, Xinhua reported.
