Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah on Sunday expressed the country's support for Syria during his phone talk with Syrian President Bashar al- Assad, the state-run SANA news agency reported.
Al-Sabah said Kuwait stands by Syria against attempts to destroy its security and stability, adding he believes that the Syrian leadership and people will thwart such attempts, Xinhua reported.
The talk came after a series of protests spread across Syria, causing bloody clashes and killing dozens. Local authorities accused foreign powers of behind the unrest.
