The UN Security Council condemned in "the strongest terms" the twin suicide attacks that killed scores of people in Damascus on Thursday, dpa reported.
The council president, Ambassador Agshin Mehdiyev of Azerbaijan, said in a statement that the body expressed "deep sympathy and condolences" to families of the victims.
"The members of the council call for all parties in Syria to immediately implement the six-point plan" of the UN-Arab League special envoy Kofi Annan, who has been mediating an end to the Syrian conflict, the statement said.
