Russia has its own data pertaining to the incident with the Turkish plane downed by Syria, said Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov during a press conference in Geneva following the "Action Group" on Syria meeting. Moscow is prepared to share the information, he said, The Voice of Russia reported.
At the same time, the diplomat stressed that the main investigation is up to Ankara and Damascus. "The principal main thing now is to prevent use of this incident to whip up tension in one direction or another," concluded Lavrov.
A Turkish Air Force reconnaissance plane disappeared from radars near the border area with Syria.
Syrian authorities said they downed the plane over their territory. The Turkish Foreign Ministry insists the plane was attacked in international airspace, while its fragments fell in Syrian waters.
