A senior Russian diplomat on Monday accused western nations of increasing arms transfers to rebel forces in Syria, an action he said would undermine any possible future sanctions against the country, reported dpa.
"There are more and more facts appearing, in media and elsewhere, of massive deliveries of weapons of western manufacture to the Syrian opposition via third party nations," wrote Gennady Gatilov, vice foreign minister, in a Twitter post.
"It would be interesting to see how our western partners, who are calling for sanctions against Syria, could guarantee the sanctions' fulfillment," he said.
