Syrian authorities release 14 abducted

Syrian authorities helped release 14 abducted people in Aleppo province and killed several militants on Tuesday, the state news agency SANA reported.

Quoting an official source in the northern province of Aleppo, SANA said the Syrian troops had managed to set free 14 abducted, including women and children at the Arom area in northern Aleppo, Xinhua reported.

It said the Syrian troops also clashed Tuesday with armed militias at the Mizar street in the Saif al-Dawal district, killing and injuring many of them.

SANA also reported clashes and army operations in other areas of Aleppo, which has emerged as a main scene for street battles between the Syrian troops and armed rebels, who are seeking to bring down Aleppo, in part due to its strategic location at the borders with Turkey.

Meanwhile, the Local Coordination Committees, the activists' group, said 25 people had been killed across Syria on Tuesday.

It reported what has become incessant daily violence that has engulfed the country since last year.

The activists' tally was impossible of being independently checked.
