The chief of the Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, is to publicly address the controversial issue of an unmanned aircraft that was shot down over Israel last week, the Lebanese website al-Nashra reported Wednesday, dpa reported.
Nasrallah is to make an appearance Thursday on Hezbollah-run television al-Manar and is expected to talk about the downed drone.
The drone entered Israeli airspace from the Mediterranean coast and flew for about 20 minutes before the Israeli air force shot it down over a remote desert terrain on Saturday.
Israeli officials have hinted that the drone might have been the work of Hezbollah, which is believed to have advanced Iranian weapons and sent drones over Israel in the past.
The United Nations peacekeeping force in Lebanon denied the drone had come from Lebanon.
Israel has deployed Patriot missile defence batteries in the northern city of Haifa after the incident.
