US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in the West Bank city of Ramallah on Wednesday, dpa reported.
Around 50 Palestinian activities gathered outside the presidential compound where the meeting took place to protest her visit. Witnesses said police in riot gear were in the area.
Clinton was also due to travel to Egypt Wednesday for talks with President Mohammed Morsi. Israeli government spokesman Mark Regev said he could not confirm reports that Clinton would hold another meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
