Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi Sunday swore in 10 new ministers in a cabinet reshuffle to help the country's struggling economy and improve social services, DPA reported.
Finance and interior ministers were replaced in the reshuffle, the first in the government of Prime Minister Hesham Qandil since it came to power in August.
Three of the newcomers belong to Morsi's Muslim Brotherhood.
They will now head the ministries of local development, transport and supply.
These appointments are aimed at boosting the Brotherhood's popularity ahead of a new parliamentary election expected in less than two months, say observers.
The seven others are independent technocrats.
Morsi was to meet with the cabinet later Sunday to discuss main assignments, including economic revival and an end to security breakdowns, reported the state-run newspaper al-Ahram.
