At least 18 people were killed Thursday in a car bombing in an area of the central Syrian province of Hama inhabited mainly by backers of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, state media and opposition activists said.
The pro-opposition Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the bombing occurred near a school in the town of al-Kafat. The dead included children and women, dpa reported.
