At least 12 people were killed and more than 30 were wounded on Monday in a series of car bomb attacks in the Iraqi capital Baghdad, local media reported.
Three separate attacks in the city centre killed 10 people and injured more than 20, while a blast in the south-western Bayaa district killed two people and injured 10, Alsumaria television said, quoting police officials, dpa reported.
Meanwhile security forces imposed a curfew in Baiji, 210 kilometres north of the capital, after gunmen took over the city's police headquarters.
The attackers detonated a car bomb in front of the building before storming it, killing four policemen, Alsumaria reported.
The building was later recaptured by security forces, the report said.
