An Israeli mother was stabbed to death by guests when she complained about the noise at her son's 24th birthday party, police said Thursday, DPA reported.
The 49-year-old Haifa woman and her son were attacked after she reprimanded the partygoers, following a complaint from a neighbour.
"There was a struggle after she spoke and the friends then pulled a knife and stabbed him and his mother," a police spokeswoman said.
The son suffered non-threatening injuries but the stab wounds proved fatal to his mother, the spokeswoman said.
The assailants fled, but three suspects, all from Nazareth, were caught later at a police roadblock. A knife, believed to be the murder weapon, was found on one of them.
Media reports said the suspects had consumed large quantities of alcohol.
