Three rockets fired from Lebanon landed in Israel on Saturday night, incurring Israel's shelling against southern Lebanon, the National News Agency reported.

The rockets were launched towards the settlement of Naharaya in southern Israel, which was immediately responded with Israel's shelling on the Zebkine Valley, located between the towns of Zebkine and Majdal-Zun in southern Lebanon, causing material damages. Israeli warplanes and helicopters were also roaming over Lebanon's Western Sector villages.

Israel's intermittent artillery shelling on the outskirts of Zebkine, south of the Lebanese city of Tyre, continued after midnight Saturday.

Earlier on Friday, two rockets were fired into northern Israel from the outskirts of Lebanon's southern town of Mari in Hasbaya. The Lebanese army later arrested two suspects involved in the attack, who turned out to be members of the Jamaa' Islamia fundamentalist group.

Commenting on Friday's attack, the UN Interim Forces in Lebanon said on Saturday that it was a serious violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 and clearly aimed at "destabilizing the situation in the region."
