Turkey should solve its problem itself: president

Turkey should solve its problem itself, Turkish President, Abdullah Gul said at the new conference, Turkish Anadolu news agency reported.

"Turkey should solve its problem itself. If we do not solve our problem, the other will do it. It may lead the country to weakness and exploitation," Gul added.

"We will take into account the opinion of the opposition when solving Turkey's Kurd problem," Gul said.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with leader of the pro-Kurdish- Democratic Society Party (DTP), Ahmet Turk. Erdogan considered the meeting as positive saying that the Kurds problem will be solved soon. Turk considered the meeting as start of dialogue between the parties. Leader of the Turkish main opposition, Republican People's Party (CHP), Deniz Baykal considered this meeting as authorities' discussions with supporters of terrorism in the country. Baykal demands the authorities to express its opinion towards Kurds openly. Turkish interior Minister Besir Atalay also met with leader of the pro-Kurdish- Democratic Society Party (DTP) on Aug.13.
